The Candlin Lecture

The Candlin Lecture is dedicated to the memory of Professor Christopher N. Candlin (1940 – 2015) who was the co-founder of the ALAPP Conference and the founding co-editor of the Journal of Applied Linguistics and Professional Practice (JALPP).

The lecture aims to engage with one or many of the conceptual and methodological themes at the interface of applied linguistics and professional discourse studies, with a particular emphasis on research uptake and impact.

The Candlin Lecture is a regular feature in future ALAPP conferences and it is anticipated that the written versions of the Lectures will be published in the Journal of Applied Linguistics and Professional Practice (JALPP).

This year’s Candlin Lecture will be given by Greg MYERS (Linguistics, Lancaster University)
